This Crockpot Pork Chops recipe is one of our all time favorites.
Slow cooker pork chops are melt-in-your-mouth tender and smothered in a creamy mushroom and onion gravy. The prep is extra fast for this easy recipe!
Hearty, heartwarming, and so easy to make, the slow cooker does all of the work! It’s an easy dish that everyone will agree on!

Here’s Why These Are the Best
This is a childhood comfort food turned into an effortless make-ahead dish. Oh, so many reasons we think these are the best crock pot pork chops.
- Just a handful of ingredients (most of which you likely have on hand) make this recipe so easy.
- This turns inexpensive chops into a melt-in-your-mouth meal with fork-tender perfection and a rich gravy.
- If you’ve got pork chops, you likely have the remaining ingredients on hand.
- Very little prep and simple steps make this a recipe for every day and any day.
- Great over rice, mashed potatoes, or any kind of noodles (my favorite is to serve over elbow noodles).

Ingredients
Pork Chops – When cooking crockpot pork chops you want to choose thicker bone in chops. Look for chops that are well marbled with a bit of fat throughout. Leaner cuts will not be as tender. The best pork chops for the crock pot include blade chop, shoulder chop, sirloin chop, or tenderloin chops.
Sauce Ingredients – This recipe makes an easy mushroom gravy sauce.
- Condensed Soup – We use condensed soup in this recipe because it holds up well in a crock pot. Fresh dairy can curdle or separate if cooked too long in a slow cooker.
- Broth – Regular or low sodium beef broth or stock is the base of the brown gravy. Chicken broth can be substituted but the flavor isn’t quite as rich.
- Onions & Mushrooms – Sliced onions and mushrooms add flavor. Use white or brown (cremini) mushrooms, I find brown mushrooms have more flavor. Even canned mushrooms work in a pinch.
Variations include swapping out the seasonings and adding a packet of ranch seasoning.
Important Ingredient Info
For the best tender results, choose blade chop, shoulder chop, sirloin chop, or tenderloin chops.

How to Make Crock Pot Pork Chops
It will taste like you’ve been hovering over the stove all day long, but this is really the easiest pork chop recipe.
- Sprinkle seasoning over the chops and brown in a skillet. Remove from pan and deglaze the pan with broth and soup, per the recipe below.
- Place mushrooms and onions in the bottom of a slow cooker & place pork chops on top.
- Pour the sauce mixture over and cover. Cook until tender.
Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

Tips for Tender Slow Cooker Pork Chops
- The most tender results come from a bone-in thicker (approx. 3/4″) chop with nice marbling throughout.
- For best results, choose thick cut pork chops that have fat and great marbling! Look for a blade chop, shoulder chop, or sirloin chop. Personal favorite is a shoulder chop. Boneless pork chops work too, just ensure they have nice marbling.
- Meat that is very lean doesn’t work well in this recipe as it won’t give the same tender results.
- Cook the chops low and slow allowing the fats to melt into the meat creating a tender juicy result!
- If the chops aren’t tender (and you’ve used one of the recommended types) they likely need more time.
Got Leftovers?
Keep leftover Crockpot pork chops in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat portions over the stovetop and add a little milk or cream to thin out the sauce.
Leftovers make great freezer meals.

Very tasty mix for the chops to cook in. Cooked all day, they are certainly fork tender. Definitely will cook again!
I have made this recipe twice so far. The only difference is I use cream of celery instead of cream of mushroom bc my family will not touch mushrooms haha. Even my picky eater loves this!!!!
Made this for dinner today. Put it in the crock pot around 10 am and it was finished by 6ish. Soooo soft and husband approved! If I could post a picture of the result, I would!
We would love to see a picture Mya! Tag us on Instagram with @spendpennies
I’ve made this recipe for the chops several time great results now I’m using it for a 1in tuff Denver steak will this work ?
Hi Bob, we have never tried this recipe with a Denver steak but would love to hear how it turns out!
This was an incredibly easy and sooooo flavorful recipe. My family is not a fan of mushrooms so I did omit them from our meal but I did keep the can of mushroom soup as it really balanced out the rest of the flavors without getting massive slices/pieces. The pork literally fell off of the bone and the gravy that is created during the slow cook process is to die for. Lol, even after supper was finished, I caught my family returning to gravy dip snacks created from warmed up potatoes, corn on the cobb, leftover pork, biscuits….. I highly recommend this recipe. Not only is it delicious, (and now included in our permanent meal rotation) it is also very inexpensive to make. It was perfect in every way.
Can this recipe be doubled in a crock pot?
As long as your crockpot is big enough it should work well Sara!
Making pork chops today smells great
I just checked mine after about 5 hours and the chips are still pretty tough. I know they have a couple to go, but it made me nervous. Do they get that much tender in the last couple of hours? I actually expected to have to turn it off because I thought they may have been close to falling apart. I used bone-in chips with a good amount of marbling.
The will get tender as they cook, if they’re tough they likely need more time. (If you check them, try to keep the lid off as little as possible, opening the slow cooker can increase the cook time a lot). I hope that helps!
Made this for dinner last night & I almost ate one whole pork chop when I checked on the food after about 6 hours! Pork was super tender, moist & flavorful. Served it with a side of veggies & mashed potatoes & there was more than enough gravy for everything.
Use low sodium broth & soup if needed.
7 hours is probably enough time.
Love that Liz! Glad you enjoyed them :)
I just made this with chicken broth, i was out of beef broth. It was amazing. Even my 6 year old ate it with no arguing!
I don’t know if I what happened, but I followed this recipe exactly, but it had been 6 hours on low , I checked them and they were tough and dry. What did I do wrong?
What type of pork chops did you use? If they’re very lean they can dry out.
The type of pork used may have played a factor. If you used thin cut boneless, the results will not be the same as using a thick cut bone in chop. The recipe notes that follow the recipe instructions recommend using a bone in blade chop, shoulder chop or sirloin chop. It also notes that leaner cuts do work but are not as tender. I went with the 3/4 cut sirloin chop and the overall result far exceeded my expectations. The best part was that a family pack of 8 was under 8.00. Give it another try. You wont regret it.
Chances are you used a cut of pork that didn’t have enough marbling and was too lean. This recipe definitely needs the fat.
Great recipes!
Tried this porkchop crockpot recipe and it was delicious!! The best mushroom gravy I have ever made. Thank you for a great easy dinner. Everyone loved it.
Another winner from your kitchen, Holly. Delicious, and so tender that two of the chops fell apart as I was using tongs to lift them out of the crock pot. Thanks so much!
So glad you loved it Steve!!
I can’t wait to try this recipe. Your recipes are always so good. I’m a senior lady and can remember when pork chops were tender and juicy not tough and dry and tasteless. Same with ham. Give us back our old pork. In the meantime I will give this a try. It looks fantastic.
I am diabetic looking for easy meals to make in my crockpot. I have tried some of your recipes and they are great.
Hi Pamela! So happy to hear that some our recipes work with your dietary needs! :)
These are the kind of recipes I have been looking for. Love to look through a copy of Bon Appetit but recipes with 50 ingredients and 30 preparation steps over 4 days is not my style.
So glad you like our recipes Don. Sometimes the simplest of ingredients make the best dishes!
I love these recipes
I’ve made this recipe multiple times, and the family really likes it…Instead of an onion, I put in a packet of Lipton’s Soup Mix…Great recipe, thanks!
What is liptons soup mix and where from?.
Hi Tony, you can usually find this soup mixture at your local grocery store. It is a powdered soup mixture that makes a flavorful soup or delicious addition to recipes like this.
I’m so glad to read this suggestion! I just underwent a neck procedure, making chopping difficult for me. I was going to do it, but I think I’ll try this instead!
This was really tasty and easy. I added a block of cream cheese while cooking the sauce up, just because I had it, delicious :) I was able to put it together the night before and put in the fridge, then started it in the crock pot on my way out the door. Will definitely make again —
Do you think I could use potatoes instead of the mushrooms?
Hi Vera, other readers have made this recipe with potatoes with great results! Leaving out the mushrooms will change the flavor but will still be delicious. Enjoy!
Thank you. Trying this on Sunday
I never thought of adding cream cheese, but I’ll bet it was delicious! I love cream cheese (and sour cream), and I’ll have to try adding some next time I make this! (and I definitely will!)
Is it ok to just double up on the soups for extra gravy?
Hi Elva, I have not tried but I would probably increase the broth so that it isn’t too thick as well. Let us know how it turns out for you!
