This Crockpot Pork Chops recipe is one of our all time favorites.
Slow cooker pork chops are melt-in-your-mouth tender and smothered in a creamy mushroom and onion gravy. The prep is extra fast for this easy recipe!
Hearty, heartwarming, and so easy to make, the slow cooker does all of the work! It’s an easy dish that everyone will agree on!
Here’s Why These Are the Best
This is a childhood comfort food turned into an effortless make-ahead dish. Oh, so many reasons we think these are the best crock pot pork chops.
- Just a handful of ingredients (most of which you likely have on hand) make this recipe so easy.
- This turns inexpensive chops into a melt-in-your-mouth meal with fork-tender perfection and a rich gravy.
- If you’ve got pork chops, you likely have the remaining ingredients on hand.
- Very little prep and simple steps make this a recipe for every day and any day.
- Great over rice, mashed potatoes, or any kind of noodles (my favorite is to serve over elbow noodles).
Ingredients
Pork Chops – When cooking crockpot pork chops you want to choose thicker bone in chops. Look for chops that are well marbled with a bit of fat throughout. Leaner cuts will not be as tender. The best pork chops for the crock pot include blade chop, shoulder chop, sirloin chop, or tenderloin chops.
Sauce Ingredients – This recipe makes an easy mushroom gravy sauce.
- Condensed Soup – We use condensed soup in this recipe because it holds up well in a crock pot. Fresh dairy can curdle or separate if cooked too long in a slow cooker.
- Broth – Regular or low sodium beef broth or stock is the base of the brown gravy. Chicken broth can be substituted but the flavor isn’t quite as rich.
- Onions & Mushrooms – Sliced onions and mushrooms add flavor. Use white or brown (cremini) mushrooms, I find brown mushrooms have more flavor. Even canned mushrooms work in a pinch.
Variations include swapping out the seasonings and adding a packet of ranch seasoning.
Important Ingredient Info
For the best tender results, choose blade chop, shoulder chop, sirloin chop, or tenderloin chops.
How to Make Crock Pot Pork Chops
It will taste like you’ve been hovering over the stove all day long, but this is really the easiest pork chop recipe.
- Sprinkle seasoning over the chops and brown in a skillet. Remove from pan and deglaze the pan with broth and soup, per the recipe below.
- Place mushrooms and onions in the bottom of a slow cooker & place pork chops on top.
- Pour the sauce mixture over and cover. Cook until tender.
Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
Tips for Tender Slow Cooker Pork Chops
- The most tender results come from a bone-in thicker (approx. 3/4″) chop with nice marbling throughout.
- For best results, choose thick cut pork chops that have fat and great marbling! Look for a blade chop, shoulder chop, or sirloin chop. Personal favorite is a shoulder chop. Boneless pork chops work too, just ensure they have nice marbling.
- Meat that is very lean doesn’t work well in this recipe as it won’t give the same tender results.
- Cook the chops low and slow allowing the fats to melt into the meat creating a tender juicy result!
- If the chops aren’t tender (and you’ve used one of the recommended types) they likely need more time.
Got Leftovers?
Keep leftover Crockpot pork chops in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat portions over the stovetop and add a little milk or cream to thin out the sauce.
Leftovers make great freezer meals.

Made this in the instant pot tonight! Adjust time to 24min, then open, mix, add slurry, then cooked for an additional 10 minutes. Came out perfect! Even my picky 8yr old loved it!
I have made this many times now. It’s 2 hrs into cooking time atm. This recipe rocks! I only double the seasonings!
Delicious! I used two pork chops – 1 lb each since there are just two of us. Used one can of mushroom soup and 1/2 can beef broth. Very moist and tender. Didn’t need to thicken the gravy. This is a keeper!
Absolutely love this recipe! Super easy and delicious! Highly recommend.
Made this with pork chops, served over whole wheat noodles, and loved it! Making it again today with chicken and will serve with brown rice.
I was wondering could you add small potatoes and green beans in it also? A
I have not tried it so I can’t say for sure Heather, but many other readers have added potatoes with great success. You will want to make sure your Crock Pot is no more than 3/4 full. If you try it I would love to hear how it turns out!
Ill be making this wkeend! Wish me luck :)
I can’t wait for you to try it Vee!
my family LOVED them!!! I am making them again tomorrow, by far the BEST recipe I’ve come across!
I am so happy to hear this recipe was a hit Linda!
I have made this recipe multiple times and my family ❤️’s it!! I add in flavors that I like, beef consomme (also helps to make the gravy darker), french onion soup, beefy onion soup packet, plus the soups the recipe calls for, and a little butter for that umami rich & creamy finishing touch at the end. I add in some seasonings to the soup mixture as well, thyme, sage, and smoked paprika to taste.. Its perfect every time and not salty at all.. I put it over hearth noodles. Fantastic recipe as is, but I like the extra flavors. I also double (+ some) the recipe for 3 ppl and leftovers!! I’ll never make pork chops any other way!! Thank you so much for this easy tasty crockpot recipe!!
I am so happy to hear this recipe is a hit with your family Lisa! Thank you for sharing your tips
Super salty, even with low sodium beef broth! The meat was very tender, the mushrooms and onions were flavorful, but overall the saltiness was overpowering. I have kept the leftovers in hopes that I can thin the sauce with enough milk to make it palatable. It certainly was easy to prepare.
Sorry to hear you found this super salty Patrice. I use low sodium beef broth as indicated in the ingredients and salt and pepper to taste and don’t find this too salty.
PHENOMENAL!! I did golden mushroom instead of cream of mushroom and also added a pack of Lipton onion soup mix. The flavor is ON POINT and perfect. Served over egg noodles with a salad. Would be great with potatoes or rice as well. I had to make the gravy thicker but it was still amazing. Fall off the bone! Thank you!!! Will be making for often!
i want your Recipe please that look so Good.

Please help! Made this tonight and my sauce looks like it did when I started, it is not a dark brown like your finished product. I followed the instructions step by step.
Did you use regular beef broth for this recipe? And did you brown the pork chops? The color could also slightly vary depending on the ingredients an brands you used. If you prefer a darker color for your pork chops, you can also try using kitchen bouquet. I hope this helps!
I’ve ran out of time to cook on the crockpot. If I cook these on the oven, do you have a time/temperature recommendation?
To cook this in the oven you can follow this recipe here. Enjoy Grayce!
HELP!!! My crockpot died & I want to make these. I have everything I need so what should I do so I can make in the oven?
To cook this in the oven you can follow this recipe here. Enjoy Karen!
Very delicious! I actually doubled the porkchops and ingredients and the results were superb! My daughter is a very “picky eater” and she kept returning for more! The dish was a hit in my house!
The “slurry” made the meal! Served with a nice egg noodle, a salad, garlic bread & steamed broccoli…super hit with guests! Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Extremely disappointed. made it exactly like the recipe said too, it smelled really good while cooking but the result was awful. I had made smashed potatoes and steamed peas and those are what I ended up eating, smashed potatoes and peas. Recipe went through the paper shredder before I started cleaning up.
I just made this recipe today. It’s very delicious and falls off the bones. I think it’ll be more flavorful by adding a package of dry onion soup mix with the soups and broth.
Delicious! I made it with leftover pieces of pork shoulder steaks I had cut up, some with the bone some without. I doubled the recipe. I cooked it on high 4 hours and it came out delicious!
