Can I Substitute Marshmallow Fluff for Marshmallows?

If you don’t have marshmallows and you do have marshmallow fluff, you can definitely use this as a substitute.

Use one jar (7.5 ounces) of marshmallow creme in place of 4 cups of mini marshmallows. So, in this case, you’d need two jars to make a full recipe.

Can Rice Krispies Treats Be Frozen?

Regular, Chocolate Oreo, and Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats are all quick and easy to make. But if you’re really looking for a shortcut, you can freeze them for last-minute emergencies!

After making your batch, wait for it to completely cool. Place in an airtight container, using wax paper to separate layers, and freeze for a maximum of 6 weeks.

They take about 15 minutes to thaw at room temperature.

  • Fresh marshmallows always work and taste best.

  • You can also throw in some mini chocolate chips for extra decadence.

  1. I have made these treats for at least 50 years using the same basic recipe. To make it super simple and fast I toss a stick of butter and a 1# bag of regular marshmallows into a dutch oven stirring till almost melted. Then in goes the peanut butter (amount negotiable) and when incorporated, the 8 cups of krispies. When totally mixed it is then poured into a well greased pan to cool and cut. This results in a chewy treat loved by all. It may be richer than other recipes but it’s a treat NOT a meal. Just beware of nut allergies if serving a crowd.5 stars
