Garlic Cheddar Biscuits are the perfect side to any meal from spaghetti to fried chicken. As much as I love a good biscuit, adding cheese and garlic takes these from regular ol’ biscuits into crazy good garlic cheese bombs, a side that will truly be the star of your meal!

Biscuits are a staple around here, perfect for breakfast with jam and delicious with butter served with soup or stew.
As much as I love a good sweet biscuit drizzled with honey and butter… these cheesy cheddar biscuits definitely take the cake.
A light and flaky biscuit crust stuffed with… you guessed it, cheddar cheese and rolled in a buttery garlic topping. The result is the ultimate cheese buns! My kids call these garlic cheese bombs because they’re really just an explosion of deliciousness… and cheese.
They are small enough to serve as an appetizer but they also are PERFECT served alongside any meal!

If you happen to have any leftover, the kids will love taking them for lunch! There are lots of versions of cheese biscuits out there… this is definitely my favorite! Tender crust, and ooey gooey cheese filling and a delicious garlic parmesan topping, these are the ultimate garlic cheese bombs!
While I use canned biscuits to make this extra quick, you can certainly wrap the cheese in a Homemade Biscuit Dough with equally wonderful results.
When making these biscuits, you’re going to want to work quickly so your dough stays fairly chilled and ensure you pinch the seams very well to seal. If some of the cheese happens to leak out, don’t worry… there will still be more inside and they’ll still taste amazing!! I bake them on parchment paper for easy clean up.
Speaking of biscuits, I am somewhat addicted to wrapping things in biscuit dough! They are always amazing and you can pretty much put anything in them from sweet to savory!
Stuffed BISCUITS are one of my favorite snacks and the possibilities are endless! Check out some of these other yummy stuffed biscuits:
- Bacon Cheeseburger Bombs (reader favorite!) Soft biscuits stuffed with cheese, bacon and the most delicious beef filling you have ever had!
- Cheddar Meatball Poppers Juicy meatballs and cheddar cheese wrapped in a soft biscuit crust.
- Loaded Mashed Potato Bombs It’s like a stuffed baked potato wrapped, filled with cheese and wrapped in a delicious hand held bite.
- Pizza Bombs Soft crust, pepperoni and your favorite pizza toppings loaded with cheese all wrapped in a biscuit crust.
- Cinnamon Caramel Apple Pie Roll Ups Roll ups of the dessert kind with cinnamon, apples and a hint of caramel. The perfect ending to any meal!
Really… the possibilities are endless! I’ve stuffed them with chicken pot pie filling, taco meat, cream cheese and pie filling and so much more!

Ingredients
- 1 (16.3 ounce each) can refrigerated biscuits
- 4 ounces cheddar cheese cubed, ½" x ¾" x ¾", 20 total
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 clove garlic crushed
- ⅓ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cut each biscuit in half and slightly roll out (don't worry about it being round). Place a cheese cube in the middle and wrap the biscuit dough around the cube ensuring the edges are sealed. Roll in your hands to make a ball shape.
- Place butter & garlic in a small bowl and melt in the microwave about 12 seconds. In a separate bowl, combine parsley and parmesan cheese.
- Dip each rolled biscuit into the butter mixture and then into the cheese mixture. Place on a parchment lined pan.
- Bake 10-12 minutes or just until browned.

Your cheese looks so creamy but chadder cheese dont melt like that are you sure thats the cheese
Yes, it’s the cheddar cheese I used. You can see the cubes of it on the photo where it hasn’t been wrapped yet.
i have a party tonight. Am I able to cost them with the butter, garlic, etc and store it till its time to cook them or wait to do all that when its time to serve. Thank you
I haven’t tried pre-making them Jude so I can’t say 100% for sure. If they are refrigerated for an hour or two I think it should still be fine.
Made these for a party last night and they were great!! They lasted about ten seconds when they came out of the oven, everyone loved them! Super easy to put together.
I could eat these right now! Thanks for linking up with What’s Cookin’ Wednesday!
These look absolutely amazing. Dangerous, I might add! Great idea!
stopping by from mouthwatering mondays! great recipe and gorgeous pictures :-D we do this with bisquick. SO good!
These look too delicious! I can’t wait to try them! Visiting from Inspiration Monday Link Party.
Great – I’m sitting here looking at this at 7:30am – and now I am starving for lunch! Cheese bombs look like THE BOMB! I am going to have to put making these on my to do list! Thanks for sharing!
How far apart should you place them?
About 1½” apart.
can you put jalepenos in here to make them like jalepeno poppers??
I’m sure you could! That would be delicious!
Would be good with a salad!
I think small bits of prepared pizza dough would work out fine also
Great idea!
I think that in Peru do not sell those biscuits that you are using in this recipe. Do you have any suggestions for these cases? Thanks
I’m not exactly sure what is available to you but I do know it’s similar to scone dough in Australia… hopefully that helps.
I would use scone dough as well as we don’t have biscuit dough in the uk. It is a very similar recipe to biscuits. Going to make these next time we have friends over. Thanks for sharing.
I know that this is an old comment, but I see this question so many times in food blogs, I found this recipe for biscuits you can make yourself and freeze to use in recipes such as Garlic Cheese Bombs (which sound delicious!): http://moneysavingmom.com/2013/02/homemade-freezer-biscuits-recipe.html
Can I use the flaky grand biscuits? Also big or little?
Pretty much any of the canned biscuits will work with this recipe! I used the smaller biscuits but the bigger ones work well too!
I used the bigger flaky biscuits (8 to a can) and could almost get four bombs out of each biscuit! Really yummy – but I upped the garlic to three cloves instead of one (we’re weird about garlic). I also nuked the butter a little longer to try to infuse more flavor into the butter. A little tomato sauce for dipping and we’ll never have to buy the local pizzeria garlic knots again! Will be adding this to the recipe book! Thanks a bunch!
How should these be stored, and how long will they keep that way? I was hoping to make them ahead of time for a party.
I haven’t made them ahead of time so I can’t say for sure. I would say that if you did them the day before, they should be cooled completely and stored in the fridge. Before serving I would suggest reheating them in the oven at 350 for about 7 minutes or so checking that the cheese inside is warm and melted.
Does shredded cheese work at all
I think that would probably work just fine.
Thanks!
sounds yummy
its so yummmy thank u
