Ingredients for Pineapple Angel Food Cake
Angel Food Cake – Any box of angel food cake mix will work but make sure you select the box that’s just one package (16 oz) instead of two.
Pineapple – Use a can of crushed pineapple with juices, and skip the other ingredients mentioned on the box. The pineapple juice is what makes this cake so moist.

How to Make Pineapple Angel Food Cake
There won’t be much waiting around for this dessert to be ready!
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
- Pour the prepared cake batter into a prepared pan.
- Bake until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
We most often bake this in a 9×13 pan but it can be baked in an ungreased angel food cake pan or tube pan for 40-45 minutes. A bundt pan is not recommended as it will be hard to remove.

Toppings
Cool the cake completely before adding toppings. Add a dollop of whipped topping (like Cool Whip) to make it easy or whip up a batch of homemade whipped cream or even a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
This pineapple angel food cake can be topped with fruit like fresh berries, peaches, or mango. It’s also great sprinkled with shredded coconut.

How to Store
Once baked, this pineapple angel food cake recipe can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Freeze the whole cooled cake by wrapping it in plastic wrap for up to 4 weeks and thaw before frosting. Or, freeze leftover frosted pieces on a baking sheet until they are frozen solid then wrap them in plastic and return to the freezer.

Dear Holly:
I want to maje the Pineapple Ángel Food Cake, but I have not been able to get the box of Angel Food Cake mix, please, ¿Could you vive me the ingredients and the amounts of the contenta of the box to mix the n and make the cake? I will be very grateful.
Hi Fabio, I have only tried this as written and I don’t have the ingredients for the box mix.
So easy and so delicious ! Turned out perfect!
I could not find a 9×13 pan so I used two 8×8 pans and it worked. Love this super simple recipe! Thanks Holly
Outstanding
Very easy to make but my cake sunk in the middle. What did I do wrong ?
I can’t say for sure what happened Stan as I haven’t had that problem before. What brand of angel food cake did you use (was it one packet in the box?).
Cake taste great but it stuck to the parchment paper. Made a mess
The exterior of the cake is a little bit sticky. I find lifting it out of the pan you can gently pull the parchment from the sides of the cake and cut it with a serrated knife. The pieces of cake will lift off of the parchment paper. Hope that helps.
I’ve made the pineapple angel food cake recipe for years. I have recommended to everyone

I make this cake all the time and it turns out perfectly each time. Quick, easy and delicious!
So what did you use for a pan… I used the pan like it said and it overflowed… thanks for the mess
Oh no, sorry to hear that this cake didn’t work for you Adam! Did you use a 16 ounce package of angel food cake? Did you line the pan with parchment paper? I used a 9×13 pan as listed in the recipe. I’ve made this cake many times, and it has never overflowed for me.
Use a larger pan
if all you can find is the 2 pouch angel food cake mix to let you know it works . it requires mixing the egg white powder with the drained pineapple juice plus enough water as box states until stiff peaks form. next slowly add the cake flour. finally fold in pineapple. bake as stated on box. turns out beautifully
Thanks for the tips Nancy! That’s good to know.
