Baked Apple Pie Roll Ups are super simple to put together with just a few ingredients you likely already have on hand. I love that these are oven baked and not fried and take just minutes to make!
While I used apple pie filling, you can fill them with whatever you’d like including cream cheese & sugar or cherry pie filling.
If you’re in a hurry you can certainly use canned apple pie filling but if you’ve got a few minutes you can quickly make your own! I’ve added my own homemade apple pie filling recipe to the site! This easy recipe is made on the stove top and makes the equivalent of one store bought can of pie filling!

My daughter loves these and we make them often because they’re so quick and easy.
When placing your roll ups on your pan, be sure the have the seam side down. Once they come out of the oven if you notice the shape is a little bit flat, you can just give them a gentle squeeze while they’re warm and they will hold their shape as they cool. We serve these as is or with ice cream and caramel.

Ingredients
- 10 slices white bread
- 1 can apple pie filling or homemade pie filling
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cut the crusts off your bread and roll each slice flat with a rolling pin. Combine cinnamon and sugar on a small plate.
- Pour the apple pie filling onto a plate and chop it so the pieces are smaller. Place 2 tablespoons apple pie filling on each slice of bread and roll up.
- Dip each roll into melted butter (I poured a tiny bit of butter into a “butter dish” and just rolled in there) and then roll in the cinnamon sugar.
- Place seam side down on a parchment lined pan and bake 15 minutes or until browned and crispy. Serve warm.

I love these. But I don’t cut off the crust. I think the crust makes them so crunchier.
Dear Holly, I’m new to your blog? I have just gotten into your recipes. I want to try them all!, but I can’t keep up with them. I have a life long friend that has no computer. SHe would like to know if you have a cookbook with all these wonderful recipes. We are both in our twilight years but still enjoy baking.Your simple recipes make this easier for us to keep doing.
Thank you so much for your message Judith. I do not have a written cook book at this time.
I’m so excited to announce that my cookbook Everday Comfort is available for purchase! Thank you so much for your support ♥️
Holly, thank you for a neat idea!
I made these a month or so ago for myself and my neighbors. We all loved them. They are so delicious! I made these with your homemade Apple Pie filling- it’s 100% better than canned and easy to whip up. The only thing I changed was using Pillsbury Crescent Rolls which came out perfect. Thanks for sharing Holly!
I’m so glad you loved these!
I made the roll-ups this last weekend. They were great! They went so fast I wished I had made a double recipe. I also made the homemade pie filling so good and so easy

I’m so glad your husband loved these Connie!
Love to learn
Looks divine !! I read all the posts and watched the video, For those who want this to make with little kids and thought or found that it was to messy or had issues with the butter and sugar dipping here is a little suggestion ……..
After slicing the crust off, butter one side with a knife then sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mix on a piece of waxed paper, place the buttered side down onto the sugar mix then roll the bread flat with the rolling pin, fill and roll up and place in pan and bake.
What a great tip! Thank you!
I love apples. Now I have two more to try. Thank you.
Theresa Smith.
I was wondering instead of bread if biscuits would work as well, just roll them out like you would bread and then use real apples instead of canned apple.
Oh these look so easy and DIVINE!! Will be making them soon with the kids–I can’t wait!
These look amazing, and dangerously too easy to make ;)
This will be a problem for my skinny jeans.
Exceptionally good looking dessert you have there. I love the roll up idea and beautiful pictures. Thanks.
Very goof
I LOVE the idea of using small flour tortillas instead of white bread. We don’t buy white bread either …. GREAT IDEA ….. thanks
