No-bake, no fuss… Millionaire Pie is simple to make and the best part is that it tastes delicious! There’s a very good reason this is one of the top recipes of all time on my blog!

We’ve served ambrosia salad at every holiday meal for as long as I can remember.  It’s such a great side and as a kid I always felt like I was having dessert with my dinner.  This pie has a similar flavor so if you like ambrosia salad, you’ll love this pie (plus pretty much anything with sweetened condensed milk has to be amazing right?!)!

Millionaire Pie with a cherry on top on two plates

This pie starts out with a base of sweetened condensed milk mixed with lemon juice (which causes it to thicken).  Once thickened, all of the yummy add-ins are mixed in including cherries, pineapple, coconut, and pecans.  It’s all poured into a graham crust and put in the fridge to set.

That’s it, no baking, no stove… just easy-peasy stir and pour!

You’ll want to make sure you squeeze out your pineapple as much as you can just to make sure your pie sets up well.  If you don’t have a store-bought graham crust, of course, this works with a homemade graham cracker crust.

Note:  If you do adapt this recipe to your tastes, do not leave out the lemon juice.  The addition of lemon juice thickens the pie and if you skip it your pie will be runny.

  1. The cranberry millionaire salad is awesome. Made no changes. You will not be disappointed. Great dish for the holiday season!

  2. I’m glad to have found this recipe just in time because my sister loves this pie and her birthday is in 2 days so it’ll be a complete surprise that I’ll be making it instead of the usual birthday cake every year. Thanks holly

  3. Hi! I am allergic to pineapple. Do you think you could take it out and replace it and it would still be good? This looks amazing! I love the smell of pineapple and get so bummed when I see something amazing and then I see the pineapple pop up lol.

  4. I followed directions completely. This pie was runny and never set. I drained and dried pineapple with a paper towel, made sure I added the lemon juice to the sweetened condensed milk. Left in fridge over night. It just fell apart.

    1. How disappointing! I’m not sure why yours didn’t set, it sounds like you followed the recipe exactly. I’ve made this so many times and haven’t had that problem.

      1. I will give it another try and add some mini marshmallows and mandarin orange slices. Hopefully this works. Thank you.

    2. Hi Kelli, you might want to try some instant clear jel next time. It’s a thickening agent and will thicken just about anything. It doesn’t have to be cooked, hence the name instant clear jel. Be careful though, you don’t need too much. Remember, you can always add more but if you add too much, you won’t be able to take it away. Good luck, and I hope this helps you next time.

  5. This pie is delicious… My husband’s favorite for his birthday and holidays… I’m not a cherry fan…I like to substitute cherries with fresh sliced strawberries, toast coconut for garnish… Yum oh!

  6. Hi Holly
I have a question I was thinking about making this but one of the people that might be enjoying this is allergic to citrus. Is there another option to the Lemon juice that i used in the recipe?

    1. Unfortunately the lemon makes this pie set. You could certainly make this pie and create another little dessert in a bowl for the guest with allergies skipping the lemon juice. It would be the texture of a softer ambrosia salad. I hope that helps.

    2. I cream an eight ounce pack of PhilAdelphia cream cheese, add two teaspoons of vanilla flavor, blended one half cup of powdered sugar then stirred in fruit and nut mix, finally folded in cool whip. Put in Graham cracker crust. This eliminates citrus, sets up wonderfully. I add powdered sugar to accommodate the addition of the cream cheese, so you might need to add more to taste. I only did this to be certain it set up well. I liked the pie but it did not work well for me

  7. I made your millionaire pie day before yesterday! I had a birthday party the next day AND I had forgotten about it. I managed to get to the restaurant by desert & coffee time. I had phoned ahead and told the other girls “Don’t order desert! I’m bringing it!” It ended up being my gift, my card, and Birthday Girl took the remaining HALF home to share with her family! Everyone happy except MY husband. Today, I’m making another Millionaire Pie!

    1. LOL! Happy Birthday to your girlfriend! I’m sure your husband will enjoy his pie, thankfully it doesn’t take long to prepare! :)
