No need to buy the store-bought variety when cocktail sauce is so easy to make at home with things that you already have in the fridge!

What is in Cocktail Sauce?

Cocktail sauce contains just a few ingredients. Simply stir them together (per the recipe below) and refrigerate.

  • ketchup (can substitute chili sauce if desired)
  • horseradish
  • Worcestershire
  • lemon juice

Cocktail sauce is great for shrimp cocktail and scallops but also tastes great as a zesty dip.

Easy Cocktail Sauce

Homemade cocktail sauce is perfect for cold shrimp, roasted veggies, or even baked potatoes!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Chill Time 30 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes
Servings 1 cup

Ingredients  

  • cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice or to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions 

  • Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Mix well and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Optional Additions:
  • a few dashes hot sauce
  • replace 2 tablespoons of ketchup with chili sauce
Keep up to 1 week in the fridge.

  2. I make this recipe all the time, but never had the measurements, just went by experience. The only thing I do differently is I add about a teaspoon of lemon zest. Either way, delicious!5 stars
