Air fryers are perfect for recreating favorite recipes with less time, fat, calories, and clean-up! These beans are lightly coated in a sweet and savory sauce and then sprinkled with red pepper flakes.

Ingredients

GREEN BEANS Fresh  is best but frozen can be used. The cooking times for frozen green beans will be a little bit longer and they aren’t as crisp as fresh beans.

FLAVOR Green beans are tossed with a sesame honey sauce then air fried to perfection.

How to Make Air Fryer Green Beans

While we love air fryer green beans. This version is seasoned for a great side next to teriyaki chicken or Soy Ginger Steak Bites!

  1. Wash & trim green beans.
  2. Whisk the coating ingredients together (per recipe below) & toss with green beans.
  3. Place beans in the air fryer & cook, shaking the basket once. Remove & serve immediately.

*If using frozen green beans, add 3 minutes onto the recipe found below.

PRO TIP: Shaking the basket is important to ensure the hot air is circulated evenly around the green beans.

Leftovers

  • Green beans will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days as long as they are in an airtight container. I snack on them chilled right from the fridge.
  • Reheat them under the broiler to crisp them up.
  • Freeze cooked green beans in a zippered bag with the date labeled on the outside and they will keep fresh for up to 4 weeks. Thaw and reheat under the broiler.

Sesame Air Fryer Green Beans

Sesame green beans are tossed in an Asian-inspired sauce with chili flakes to give them a bit of a kick!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients  

  • 1 ½ pounds green beans washed and trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes or to taste, optional
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  • Preheat air fryer to 390°F.
  • Combine sesame oil, honey, sesame seeds, garlic, red chili flakes, and salt in a small bowl. Toss with green beans.
  • Place in the air fryer and cook 9-11 minutes shaking the basket after 6 minutes.
