No-bake, no fuss… Millionaire Pie is simple to make and the best part is that it tastes delicious! There’s a very good reason this is one of the top recipes of all time on my blog!

We’ve served ambrosia salad at every holiday meal for as long as I can remember.  It’s such a great side and as a kid I always felt like I was having dessert with my dinner.  This pie has a similar flavor so if you like ambrosia salad, you’ll love this pie (plus pretty much anything with sweetened condensed milk has to be amazing right?!)!

Millionaire Pie with a cherry on top on two plates

This pie starts out with a base of sweetened condensed milk mixed with lemon juice (which causes it to thicken).  Once thickened, all of the yummy add-ins are mixed in including cherries, pineapple, coconut, and pecans.  It’s all poured into a graham crust and put in the fridge to set.

That’s it, no baking, no stove… just easy-peasy stir and pour!

You’ll want to make sure you squeeze out your pineapple as much as you can just to make sure your pie sets up well.  If you don’t have a store-bought graham crust, of course, this works with a homemade graham cracker crust.

Note:  If you do adapt this recipe to your tastes, do not leave out the lemon juice.  The addition of lemon juice thickens the pie and if you skip it your pie will be runny.

  1. My mom mades this for my whole childhood, but lost the recipe..she never used cherries though…I just made this and omg childhood taste memories unlocked5 stars

  2. I am sorry, but to start is a totally misleading name, thus the rating. Say… no bake, easy pie to assemble, but the 5 minutes is a total joke!

You have to drain the pineapple, chop the cherries and maybe the pecans, how you do all that and mix everything in 5 mins?

Once prepped, yes… easy and fast to assemble, great taste and will please children and adults.4 stars

  3. Delicious! This was so easy to make and it was a hit with my family. I remember having this pie at our church luncheons as a kid. I still love it!5 stars

  4. The pie thats set high looks really professional put together I would buy that pie the other one is sloppy .

    1. The photos are all the same pie and all made by me. :) It may not look perfect to you but it’s delicous and it’s homemade!

  5. Recipes sound great! I can almost taste them as I read the recipes. Thanks for sharing.

  6. hi Holly, in the Millionaire Pie, you noted about the Lemon Juice. Because I’m allergic to the acid in the Lemon juice, if I’m making real whipped cream, could I used cream of tartar or corn starch to thicken the pie? If so what would be the measurements to use?
Thank you for your help in this matter.
Also just a note, if I m Making the whipping cream, and the pie crust myself, let’s face it, it will taste much better, but definitely will take at least 15 min. to make this not 5 min. just saying.
I can’t wait to make this, but I will have to wait for your reply on the lemon. And thanks for noting this, cause I was just going to leave out the lemon, and that would not have been a good idea, but if we can find something that works, I would like to know.

    1. Hi Lou, we have only made this recipe as listed so I am not sure. But you are correct the lemon juice helps to set the pie so you do want to replace it appropriately. Maybe another reader can offer some guidance on replacing it.

    2. I just saw no one was using cream cheese. I grew up on using cream cheese with powdered sugar and that worked. Well now to try without

  7. While this is a great pie, there is NO WAY that it will only take you five minutes to make! The only part that takes 5 minutes is stirring the ingredients up and then pouring it into the pie. The maraschino cherries alone, took me at least 15 minutes to de-stem and cut into tiny pieces. The pecans also, had to be chopped. (I guess if we had bought the pre-chopped kind, it might have shaved off a few seconds.) All in all though…it took me a good half hour to make this pie. Also, for a slightly different topping – try garnishing the pie with chopped nuts mixed with a little bit of coconut. It is much more interesting than just plain cool whip.4 stars

  8. I made this for the first time, this evening. I would suggest making it the night before you plan to use it. The texture wasn’t as firm as I would have liked, but the taste was wonderful!

  9. Hi Holly..I made your delicious banana cake today, and it’s out of this world good..I think it’s the best cake I’ve had.. love your blog! Thanks for sharing..Blessings5 stars

  10. I made this today for a family gathering. I learned that next time I’ll make it a day ahead. I didn’t have the time for Cool Whip
to thaw. So I used real cream. It just didn’t hold up as well. We still ate it. No one else complained.5 stars

  11. Some millionaire pie recipes call for cream cheese & some don’t. What’s the difference? Is taste much different or texture different? Just wondering. Thanks.

    1. Just two delicious ways to make this easy pie. The Cream Cheese gives it a slightly thicker and less fluffy texture but is still delicious. We haven’t tried incorporating cream cheese into this recipe but other readers have had success. Just be sure to whip it until fluffy before adding.
