3 Ingredient Chicken

Chicken breasts, garlic, and barbecue sauce is all it takes, why not double up the recipe and freeze extra for last-minute salads?

CHICKEN: We love this recipe with lean boneless skinless chicken breasts, they’re so easy and cook fast.

Any cut of chicken will do in this recipe, drumsticks, thighs, and legs come out juicy every time. If using bone-in chicken, coat the chicken with bbq sauce and place in a larger casserole dish (and it tends to have more juices). The chicken will need closer to 45 minutes.

SAUCE: Store-bought BBQ sauce & fresh garlic make this recipe super easy but if time allows, we love homemade bbq sauce. Choose BBQ, hickory, honey, sweet and sour.

Variations

This chicken is one of those recipes that’s really easy to change with a few additions to the BBQ sauce. Try any of the following.

  • Sweet: Maple syrup, honey, brown sugar
  • Spicy: sriracha, chili flakes, diced jalapeno
  • Tangy/Savory: Apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, ranch seasoning mix

  3. Hi Holly, first of all let me say, your site is my go to for everything! Made this BBQ chicken today, storming so needed an oven recipe. Used store bought BBQ sauce, boneless chicken breasts, added dried ranch mix, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar and garlic. Followed your recipe for marinating, then baking. It was wonderful!!!!!! My picky teenaged grandson even loved it. I served it with Potato Salad, corn on the cob, garlic bread. Desert was brownies withVanila ice cream, topped with hot fudge and carmel sauces. Everyone loved it, no left overs.
