The Easiest Party Dip
This dill pickle dip recipe is my oldest daughter’s favorite snack, and with just a few simple ingredients, I am sure it will become yours, too!
- Flavor: Rich, creamy, and packed with bold dill pickle flavor.
- Skill Level: This recipe is practically fool-proof! Just chop, mix, and chill.
- Time-Saving Tip: Make quick work of the prep with my fave chopper. Use the small chopping plate or dice the pickles very finely for the best pickle flavor in every bite.
- Prep Note: This dip gets better with time, so chill it at least 30 minutes ahead, or up to 2 days ahead. This gives the flavors more time to develop.
- Serving Suggestions: Dill pickle dip is a veggie lover’s go-to with fresh cucumbers, carrots, and celery. It is also delicious with pretzels, crackers, and chips!

4 Ingredients, Big Flavor
- Cream Cheese: Use a block of full-fat cream cheese for the best results. Spreadable cream cheese will work, but the dip may not be as thick.
- Pickles: Crunchy dill pickles (not sweet) give the best crunch. Use your favorite brand and flavor of dill pickles. Just finely chop them to ensure pickles in every bite!
- Pickle Juice: Pickle juice softens the dip a little and adds a punch of tangy flavor. Be sure to include a little of the garlicky bits and spices as they add extra flavor.
- Dill: Fresh dill gives the brightest flavor, but can be swapped for 1 teaspoon of dried dill if fresh isn’t available.
Variations & Quick Tips
- Add-Ins: Add garlic powder, cheddar cheese, or a sprinkle of bacon bits on top.
- Ways to Use: Dill pickle dip is an amazing spread on salmon burgers or sandwiches. Or serve it as a dip for potato chips, pita chips, fresh veggies, or zucchini rounds.

Equipment
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- ¼ cup dill pickle juice
- ¼ cup chopped dill pickles
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
Instructions
- In a medium bowl with a hand mixer, mix cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add pickle juice to the cream cheese, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in chopped pickles and fresh dill.
- Refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Consistency: Adjust the pickle juice to reach the desired consistency. The dip will thicken slightly as it chills in the fridge.
- Pickle Juice: When scooping pickle juice from the container, try to add any of the spices and garlicky bits in the juice, they’re a great addition to the dip.
- Dill: Fresh dill adds great flavor but you can substitute 1 teaspoon of dried dill weed.

Oh, a dill pickle dip recipe! That sounds absolutely delicious. I bet a high-res photo of that dip would look incredible.
MULTIPLE STARS-I loved the simple items in this recipe. Please give it a full 24 hrs to sit safely in your fridge before its completely devoured, as you reach for a new bar of cream cheese to soften for the next batch!
Loved it, thank you!
love your Pickle salad!
Chip-wreckers? Love it! And there goes the diet. Again Should have known I’d have to make this again…I just got home from grocery shopping…with 2 bags of chips.
Love this easy dip! I’ve made many, many times!!
this dip is so delicious I could eat it with a spoon– and probably have :) i use cream cheese and sour cream, dill relish and dried dill with a little salt and pepper.
I can not confirm or deny that I have also just used a spoon
This dip is delicious!!! The pickle juice and the pickles add so much flavor and zest to this dip, without making the consistency too liquidy. It was so easy to make and came together in a matter of minutes. I served this dip as part of a veggie tray and our guests loved it! Thanks Holly for another fantastic recipe.
So happy you enjoyed it. This is one of my favorites too!
I usually start dip/spred recipes with cream cheese by at least getting the cream cheese to room temperature; but usually just toss into the microwave for 10-20 sec (definitely depends on your microwave) so mixing other “stuff” in is a bit easier! I used this as a stuffing for celery which was a huge success! Take care & enjoy!
Thank you for the tip Menkens! I love the idea of stuffing it in celery!
This is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! I love dill and dill pickles anyway. MMMM! Making another batch tonight.
