A peppermint milkshake is a quick, cool and creamy dessert in a glass.

This simple treat takes just minutes to prepare and is deliciously decadent.

Move over Chick-fil-a peppermint milkshake, there’s a new and improved version in town!

Peppermint Milkshake Ingredients

Much like making any milkshake, you’ll need just a few simple ingredients.

We start with vanilla ice cream but you can use other Christmas inspired ice cream flavors like eggnog or even peppermint ice cream.

A bit of milk (or even eggnog) thins the mixture to make it into a slurp-able treat.

The peppermint flavor in this recipe comes from both crushed peppermint (we use candy canes) and peppermint extract. Adding a sprinkle of crushed peppermint to the milkshake itself adds an extra level of yummy.

Peppermint vs. Mint Extract

Peppermint extract is stronger than mint extract so if you only have mint extract, you’ll likely need to add a bit extra.

  • Crush your own candy canes for the best garnish.
  • Red and white candy canes make the best color, if green is added the colors can get muddled.
