Carrots are delicious and easy to roast in the air fryer.

They have color, a bit of tender crisp crunch, and lots of caramelized flavor. Cooking them in an Air Fryer makes the best-cooked carrots in mere minutes, preserving their color, flavor, and vital nutrients!

Using an Air Fryer

Air Fryers cook food quickly with minimal added fats, preserving vital nutrients and retaining color and flavor.

They’re amazing for cooking vegetables like zucchini or even broccoli or mushrooms.

The air fryer makes these come out colorful and crunchy!

Carrots for Air Frying

Different kinds of carrots cook differently.

  • Garden carrots have more water and are more tender so they need less time (but get less caramelization).
  • Large carrots are perfect for air frying. They become tender and cook long enough to caramelize nicely without getting mushy.
  • Baby carrots work too but should be left whole.

Air Fryer Tips

  • Different air fryers cook at different rates. Check your veggies early so they don’t overcook.
  • Frozen carrots sliced in coins or frozen baby carrots can still be air fried, simply increase the cooking time (cooking spray coats frozen veggies better than butter or oil which freezes as it touches the veggies).
  • The more you fill the air fryer, the less caramelization you’ll get.
