This is a perfect weekend snack!  My kids love smoothies because to them they taste like dessert yet they are so good for them!

This is super simple to put together and definitely versatile!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie!

This is a perfect weekend snack!  My kids love smoothies because to them they taste like dessert yet they are so good for them!

Ingredients:

  • 1 sliced Banana
  • 1 cup cut Strawberries
  • 1 cup Ice
  • 6 oz Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1/4 cup Milk , coconut milk or almond milk
  • 2 tsp Honey

Choose one of the following Optional Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons wheat germ
  • 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds (let soak in milk 5 minutes first)

Directions:

  1. Put all the ingredients in blender.
  2. Blend until ice is crushed.

  1. I love making smoothies like this and I have figured out a few hints. If you let the bananas get a little over ripe, they are much sweeter. You can also freeze your bananas and strawberries before hand and leave out the ice. I love it this way, so you never get those occassional little chunks of ice!
