How to Make Homemade Brown Sugar (2 Ingredients!!)
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- Combine sugar and molasses in a large bowl and mix with a wooden spoon until the molasses is completely incorporated.
- To make a darker brown sugar, continue to add more molasses.

I’m wondering if anyone has used Blackstrap molasses in this recipe? I am curious it gives a more “deep” flavor, if you know what I mean?
We have only made this recipe as written, Beverly, but maybe another reader can help?
I love making my own brown sugar, among other things. Rather make my own and know what is in it. Than, buying it with all those other ingredients, that I can’t even pronounce. All natural for me.
I agree Robin! Homemade is always better!
How long will this last, if stored correctly?
It should last as long as regular brown sugar.
