Not only are they pretty and look festive with the reds and greens, they’re great because you can prep them up to 24 hours ahead of time making them the perfect holiday snack or appetizer!
The flavors in this recipe are perfect… creamy cream cheese, salty feta and sweet dried cranberries. You can use green onions in place of the chives, I personally like the chives as they have a milder flavor.
While I’ve used white flour tortillas in this recipe, you can certainly use red (tomato) and green (spinach) tortillas to make them festive and add even more color!
The filling can be mixed by hand but I find using a mixer to beat the cream cheese makes it light and fluffy (and much easier to spread). If you find your cream cheese hard to spread, just add in about 1/4 cup of sour cream.
Be sure to divide the mixture between 4 large tortillas so there isn’t too much filling. Leaving a 1/2″ border helps to ensure the filling doesn’t overflow. When rolling, you’ll want to roll them as tightly as you can and then wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before cutting and serving.

The feta mixture can be difficult to spread. I’ve found that the back of a metal spoon works the best.
What can I substitute for feta cheese?
Perhaps you could try goat cheese or another cheese of your liking. Even a shredded mozzarella might work (but it would change the flavor).
In the fridge chillin. I did a taste test with the ends that I cut off. They passed my husband. I used crumbled low fat feta because some family members do not care for goat cheese. Chives were too expensive at store so I chopped very finely a little bit of onion. Chopped cranberries very fine as well. I overstuffed my wraps on purpose because I like to have substance. Beucase of this it made 3 10″ wraps. I used Spinach wrap for color. It is the holidays! Celebrating my mother in laws 93rd birthday, she is an amazing lady and still going strong! Thank you for an easy app. Going to make again for a meeting on Monday as a surpirse.
What a great idea to use green wraps! Thank you for sharing your story and enjoy the birthday party :)
Morning Holly, The birthday party was wonderful and your rolls were a hit. They asked for the recipe! mom in law 93 and her 2 month old great granddaughter was there. First time I got to see the little one.
I plan on making wraps again for the YMCA Instructors. We have a meeting tomorrow night. Hope you don’t mind but I’m going to add a 1/2 of an avocado to change it up even more. I’ll post how that goes.
Love your site, will continue to follow. Cindy
What a fun party Cindy!! Avocado sounds delicious, let us know how it works out!
Can i freeze these pinwheels ta make ahead?
I haven’t tried freezing these so I can’t say for sure.
Can you use something besides feta???? Thanks!!!!
I have only tried the recipe as written, but ricotta is similar to feta.
I’m making these tonight for a get together tomorrow! I can’t wait, they look and sound amazingly delicious!!!
I hope they were a huge hit at your party!
I have not eaten this yet but I’d like to make a suggestion as to how to prepare. Firstly spread cream cheese all over tortilla then sprinkle remaining ingredients. It was very difficult to spread everything at once. It would be more cymetrical and much easier!
If I make them again, I will chop cranberries into smaller pieces so they will spread easier.
I think I going to use spinach tortillas. I thought the green on the outside
would look very festive with cranberries inside.
That would look so pretty!
This sounds delicious, I’m going to make them using sliced deli turkey in place of tortillas to make them a bit more waist friendly. Thanks for the awesome inspiration!
Great idea Sheila! Let us know how it works for you!
these sound yummy! I have to give them a try. I am thinking about adding some shredded or diced turkey or chicken to do! Pecans would be good as well. thank you for the recipe…
Sounds like great ideas Teresa. Thanks for sharing!
have not made the recipe but I wonder if I could use it as a dip for crackers or vegies?
I think that sounds delicious Rachelle!
could you use the filling as a dip for crackers or vegie sticks? I love cranberries and all kinds of cheese
The pinwheels look so great and not difficult to try! Thank you for sharing the recipe! Gonna try it this weekend!
Your recipe is easier than i thought. Can halloumi cheese be possible to be a substitute of feta cheese in this dish? I don’t like the strong taste of feta.
I have only made this recipe as written, however if you choose to substitute halloumi cheese for feta let me know how it turns out.
They are just a hit always! Thank you
I made these and added a spinach and herb seasoning and they turned out fabulous! I used green onions and thought the combination of sweet and savory was perfect!
I’m so glad you loved them Melissa! Spinach would be great in these too!
Could I use dried chives if i can’t get fresh? And how much would I use? Thanks!
I would suggest replacing the chives with about 3 tablespoons minced green onion as dried chives are much milder.
Really good!
Can you substitute something else in place of the Feta Cheese?
I have only made this recipe as written however another reader told me she replaced the feta with goat cheese with great results.
Just made these for our new year’s party (2017 yay) and they were a great hit. Everyone loved them including myself! Thank you for this awesome recipe xo
Woohoo! Happy to hear that they were a hit!
