A Cranberry Moscow Mule is sweet and tangy with a gingery bite. They give any gathering a festive touch, especially when served icy cold in their signature bright copper tankards.
With all the classic ingredients of a Moscow Mule, this drink recipe also includes cranberry cocktail juice for extra fruity tartness and flavor. I love to serve a pitcher of this cocktail with my favorite holiday appetizers!
What’s in a Moscow Mule?
The classic ingredients in Moscow mules are vodka, fresh lime juice, and ginger beer. Typically the garnish is a fresh sprig of mint. You can use lime slice instead if fresh mint isn’t available, or why not use both!
Ginger beer is a fermented beverage, which is more gingery but less bubbly than ginger ale. Although not to be confused with ginger ale, the soft drink could technically be substituted, especially if you’re making Moscow mule mocktails.
You can get as creative as you want with Moscow mules. Alter the flavors with an ounce of your favorite fruit juices or simple syrups. Here are some ideas for add-ins to exercise your mixology muscles:
- Cherry juice
- Pomegranate syrup
- Rose’s lime juice
- Pineapple juice
- Raspberry syrup
How to Make a Cranberry Moscow Mule
This is a terrific cocktail and so easy to make (stirred, not shaken if you please!).
- Fill copper mugs with ice.
- Stir in the other ingredients.
Garnish with a mint sprig, some lime slices, and a stir stick or straw and enjoy.
To Make these for large gatherings, keep the proportions the same and mix up a big batch in a glass pitcher or punch bowl. If you can find cranberry vodka, use that in place of regular vodka! You’ll make any Christmas or holiday party extra special when you serve delicious Moscow mule cocktails.
