Nothing says summer like the fresh flavor of ripe strawberries and an icy glass of lemonade.  This fresh strawberry lemonade recipe is the perfect summer drink with just a few simple ingredients!

The great thing about making a fruit lemonade is that you can actually use ANY kind of fruit in it and just adjust the sugar to your liking!  If you want to make this into a cocktail, add a splash of vodka or even replace some of the water with sparkling wine!

I used to boil the sugar/fruit mixture before straining it but that ended up taking a lot more time.  This method is quick, easy and extra delicious!

For extra flavor we love to create a lemon sugar and even use it to rim the glass.  Using a vegetable peeler or zester, peel the yellow zest from 1-2 lemons lemons making sure not to get the bitter white pith underneath. Place the zest peelings in a bowl 1 one cup of sugar and allow the flavors to meld for at least 30 minutes.  This sugar is delicious in the recipe, stirred into fresh tea or iced tea or sprinkled on desserts!

  1. 1/2 the amount of strawberries, only 3/4 cup lemon juice (still very tart), 3/4 cup to 1 cup sugar. I had expected to reduce the sugar, but it needed to be upped (then again, I used large grained, organic). Expected to need more lemons, but 3/4 cup of the juice was super tart! Only had about 2 cups of strawberries, but that added tons of strawberry flavor! Can’t imagine doubling it. Might try with fresh blueberries next. Thanks for posting though! My journey into perfecting a homemade lemonade has begun.3 stars

  2. Just made this but substituted Splenda for the sugar, as I have 2 type1 Diabetics at home. Delicious!5 stars
