Get your Feet Flip Flop Ready

Whether you have dried, crack feet or simply haven’t had a polish in a while, every girl can agree that getting ready for summer definitely involves getting your feet ready.  During the warmer months, our feet are often exposed and most of us want our feet to be as smooth, clean and attractive as possible.  Here’s some great tips to get your toes in tip top shape!

Home remedies for dry, cracked feet:

Scrub your feet with a mixture of brown sugar and olive oil for exfoliation and moisture.  You will need to scrub vigorously for approximately 15 – 20 minutes and then rinse.  Once you rinse, you may be shocked at how wonderful they feel so quickly.

Soak your feet in honey:

This is an all-natural soak that will work wonders on dead skin on the feet… or anywhere. Soak your feet for 10 – 15 minutes in a solution of 1 cup honey and 1 gallon warm water for softer, more moisturized tootsies.  (Honey has tons of amazing uses!!)

Salicylic acid/Dandruff shampoo:

Try soaking your feet in a solution of dandruff shampoo (which contains salicylic acid) and water for about 20 minutes.  Since the shampoo is specially formulated to remove dead skin cells, it will work wonders on dry, callused feet. Dandruff shampoo with  selenium sulfide will also help with athletes foot!

Socks and Lotion:

Apply a generous amount of your favorite lotion specially designed for dry skin then cover your feet with socks… and go to bed.  You can use regular (cotton is best) socks…  if your feet are extremely dry and cracked, you might want to try moisturizing gel socks!  After a few nights you will start to see a noticeable improvement in the look, feel and health of your feet.

Scrub

Keep a foot paddle in your shower and at the end of the shower (when your skin has had the chance to absorb some moisture),  give your feet a little scrub.

And finally, add a fresh coat of polish to your toes!  I love using a nice bright summery color…  and changing it often!!  Voila…  gorgeous toes ready to slip into some summer sandles or flip flops!!
