You may remember a couple of months ago we had an amazing giveaway with Bertolli for some awesome Mangia Moments kits… where you got to share your #MangiaMoments! Mangia Moments are those moments where you sit around with friends and family and create memories while enjoying a great meal, a delicious glass of wine and most of all, sharing stories, laughs and love.
I was so excited to have created my own Mangia Moments with new friends and fellow bloggers last weekend when Bertolli invited me out to Napa.
We arrived at the beautiful Intercontinental Mark Hopkins hotel on a drizzly afternoon.
Upon entering my room, I was surprised with a lovely bag of goodies containing everything I might need for a perfect visit to Wine Country. Amazing chocolates from Ghirardelli, travel guides, snacks, water and most exciting of all, an Instax mini camera to capture the moments!
After a great meal, some wine and a good night’s rest, we set off in the morning to explore the city of San Francisco.
We started out with a cable car ride to Fisherman’s Wharf which was so fun. Not only had I never ridden a cable car, I was just excited to be able to see the city along the way!
We arrived at Fisherman’s Wharf which, if you’re visiting San Francisco, is a must! With beautiful views, the water, shops, restaurants and lots of interesting historical information, it’s easy to see why this is such a popular destination! Even in the pouring rain, it was a beautiful morning!
After a morning of touring it was time to pack up and hop on a bus headed to Wine Country! The ride was gorgeous, we had a delicious lunch from Boudin on the bus and got a chance to chat and meet some new friends! We arrived at the beautiful hotel in the late afternoon and got settled into our rooms.
We stayed at Harvest Inn in St. Helena, an amazing resort is nestled in the trees yet close to several wineries. It was completely stunning both inside and out .
The rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated with a fresh yet rustic feel and a gorgeous view. The bathroom was massive with a stone shower and a soaker tub that most of us could only dream about. The room had all of the amenities you could possibly need including a fireplace, a flat screen tv, ample space and a truly luxurious bed.
Once settled, it was back on the bus for an evening of fun! Our first stop was at Kenwood Vineyards where we enjoyed a marvellous wine tasting. We started off with a lovely selection of whites followed by the more robust reds. My favorite of the bunch was the Jack London Cabernet Sauvignon which was rich and full bodied, it would be the perfect compliment to a tomato pasta dinner!
The next stop was heading to Chateau St. Jean for a wine tasting followed by a lovely dinner. We tasted yet another amazing group of wines along with learning some interesting history about the winery and some great wine tips.
The highlight of the weekend was the outstanding dinner event put on by Bertolli. Each course on this amazing menu was paired with a lovely glass of wine from Chateau St. Jean.
The main course was a selection of Bertolli pasta dishes alongside some fantastic vegetable dishes and amazing crusty bread
The first pasta was a creamy Bertolli Shrimp Scampi linguine. This linguine had a light and creamy garlic sauce, tender baby shrimp and peppers. The second pasta was Bertolli Chicken Florentine Farfalle which is one of my favourites! A bowtie pasta in a rich velvety alfredo style sauce loaded with spinach and chicken.
Our evening was capped off with an Apple Crostata served with Ginger Ice Cream, such a perfect ending to a magnificent meal.
This meal was everything a true Mangia Moment should be. Filled with new friends, great wine, amazing food and fabulous memories that will last a lifetime.
