Check out this great recipe for keeping your pillows and mattresses smelling sweet and dust-mite free!

Take an airproof jar, like a Mason jar, and drop in one cup of baking soda. Dribble in three drops of essential oil or 2 teaspoons of your favorite dried herbs, like mint or rosemary. Shake it really well to blend everything together. Sift the mixture directly onto your mattress and pillows and let it sit on your mattress for 15 to 20 minutes. Vacuum your mattress of all of the baking soda, and shake out your pillows. No more dust mites, and it will leave a fresh scent behind!

  1. I use about the same recipe as above, only I do it a bit different. Put on mattress and pillows as suggested. The mattress needs a mattress bag the pillows use the space saver bags (I will explain in one minute). Have hubby or friend help put plastic over your mattress. You will need duck tape. If you have a big mattress over full you will need to use two sweepers. Make sure there are no holes!! Turn vacuums on, suck all air out so it shrinks the bag and mattress down as far as it will go. When you’re satisfied with it turn them off cut bag top and vacuum what left off the mattress. Now the pillows, do the same prep, follow instruction on the box, turn vacuum on shrink the pillows down flat cover with cap and put in the freezer for 2-3 hours. This kills everything. Enjoy when you open the bag!
