Healthy Valentines Day Idea!
Chocolate, conversation hearts, cinnamon hearts… did I mention chocolate? Valentines day is always filled with sweets.. I always try to incorporate Valentines Day ideas into our dinner because my Mom always did it for us!
Here is a healthy Valentines Day Idea… I made this last night for my daughter and she LOVED it! It was so easy and looked so sweet! Today when she got home, she asked if there was any “Valentine’s Salad” leftover for snack! (That being said, my girls love salad).
I was able to get a small package of heart shaped cookie cutters which worked perfectly for this! I would recommend using metal cookie cutters because plastic cutters may not stand up. Here is a mini cutter set from Wilton that would work really well for this!
I sliced my carrots and cucumber diagonally because this would give a bigger surface to cut out the hearts! Cucumbers worked the best and the carrots were so cute!!
Veggies that are easy to cut out:
- Carrots sliced diagonally
- Radishes sliced thin
- Thin slices of cheese
- Avocado slices
Veggies that don’t work:
- Tomatoes :) (let me know if you figure this one out!)..
I will be posting a few more great Valentines Day Ideas as the day comes closer! If you have any ideas or tips, for Healthy Valentines Day ideas or ANY subject submit them here!
